ECHOES is an animated short film (under 2 minutes), developed over 3 months. It explores how the looming threat of war disrupts everyday life. A growing visual disturbance marks its path, affecting ordinary spaces and daily routines, culminating in a powerful moment of realization.
Each of us was completely responsible for his*her own shots including modelling, shading, texturing, FX, lighting in Houdini and rendering with Karma. We composited them using After Effects and Nuke. The five shots I was responsible for can be seen below the video showing each of the steps and include the table, car and dice shots as well as the shot of the burning building at the end.
ECHOES emerged from a time when multiple conflicts around the world dominated daily news, casting a long shadow over everyday life. While many experience these events from a distance, their emotional weight is inescapableāseeping into our thoughts, routines, and sense of safety. The film explores how this invisible presence of war disturbs the ordinary, not through direct depiction, but through subtle disruptions. It reflects a collective anxiety: the feeling that something is unraveling beneath the surface of normalcy.
