ONE APPLE.

Focus.

ONE APPLE focuses on controlling forces such as gravity, unwrapping animations, and creating delicious apples.

The project explores layered motion and controlled simulations to achieve a detailed and dynamic effect. The setup enables precise control over RBD simulations and animation, including adjustments to gravity to guide movement and timing. The apple’s unwrapping is driven by an animation using the curveu attribute and a little matrix magic on the skeleton extracted the apple’s edges. Another detour we took is particle advection for the shockwave at the beginning layering multiple particle simulations. The apple shaders was created using COPs and Karma.

Idea & Process.

The idea is based on the connection between apples and gravity, referencing the story of Newton.

The apple then begins a journey through space, falling and rising again on the elevating plates, yet always stabilizing itself mid-motion. It then travels, falls, and repeatedly stabilizes in motion. In the final stage, the apple is reborn, completing its transformation. The lighting was carefully designed to ensure clarity and a polished, commercial appearance.
